Since I have been sharing all these DIY sugar scrubs, I decided that I would share with ya’ll one of my face scrubs. This DIY Cucumber and Aloe Facial Scrub is a refreshing, gentle exfoiliator, with added moisturizing and toning benefits. Plus it is great for those under the eye bags.
It is all natural, using just a few simple ingredients that you probably have on hand. I used aloe from an aloe vera plant, however you can use store bought 100% aloe and it will work all the same.
The first of the 2 main ingredients in this facial scrub is Cucumber. Due to its abundance of antioxidants and silica Cucumber has the ability to reduce the appearance of dark circles under your eyes, as well as, reduce the appearance of dark spots over time. It also has large amounts of ascorbic acid which can decrease water retention thus, reducing puffiness and under eye bags.
The second main ingredient is Aloe Vera or as the Egyptians called it “The plant of Immortality”. Aloe vera contains over 75 different nutrients, minerals and vitamins. It contains antioxidants like beta carotene, vitamin C, and vitamin E. Which help improve the firmness of your skin as well as keep it hydrated. It also contains 2 hormones, Auxin and Giberellins, that provide wound healing and anti-inflammatory properties. Giberellin also acts as a growth hormone, stimulating the growth of new cells. No wonder its call “the plant of immortality” with all those anti aging benefits.
Together with a little bit of sugar and coconut oil for the added benefits, you can make this fantastic Cucumber and Aloe Face Scrub. At home, for just a few bucks, with truly all natural ingredients.
